A burn ban has been initiated in Cobb County to mitigate the effects of pollution and minimize the risk of wildfires. The ban, effective immediately and lasting until September 30, prohibits the open burning of leaves, tree limbs, yard waste, and forest land, along with the use of air curtain destructors for land clearing purposes. However, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division has clarified that certain recreational fires, including campfires and grilling, are exempt from this prohibition.
